(May 3, 2008) - UC Riverside recorded season-highs 19 hits and 19 runs to pick up a 19-9 Big West Conference victory over Pacific in Stockton, CA Saturday night. Aaron Wible tied a UCR Division I record with five hits and UCR (15-25, 9-5 Big West) put up the second most runs in school history and also moved into a three-way tie for second place in the Big West standings.

The Highlanders brought runs across in each of the first five innings to build a 10-7 lead after five complete innings. UCR added two runs in the seventh and later put the game out of reach with seven runs in the ninth. Trevor Hairgrove tied a career-high with four hits and Carl Uhl, Garcia, and Tony Nix also picked up two hits a piece. Uhl also stole two bases. In addition to his first career five-hit performance, Wible scored two runs and drove home two runs. Garcia homered for the second consecutive night and Gonzalez later added his third long ball of the season.

Highlander starter Matt Larkins picked up his team-leading sixth win of the season after working through five innings and then handing the ball over the bullpen.
