UC Riverside
men’s and women’s golf teams practice and compete on
five notable courses in or near Riverside. All courses are conducive
to UCR’s rich golf tradition and provide excellent challenges
for practice and competition. UCR is fortunate to be so close to
so many beautiful and challenging courses.
CANYON
CREST COUNTRY CLUB
• Riverside • Par 72
A private course designed in the mid 1960’s,
Canyon Crest offers the good player a challenge all the time.
It also requires accuracy off the tee as well as good approach
shots as the greens are generally small in nature. Its proximity
to the campus makes it very convenient. It is worth noting Gary
McCord shot a competitive course record 65 in the local stage
of U.S. Open qualifying in the early 1970’s. |

The course features 27 holes in the Valley/Lake/Mountain
Championship layout. It is an original Pete Dye design that
hosted the Nike Tour for several years. The course features
an outstanding driving range. |

PGA
of SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
• Beaumont • Champions Course and Legends Course
• Par 72
This facility is the home of the local Southern California
PGA. It is three years old. It is about 30 minutes from campus,
about half way to Palm Springs. It has 36 holes of real championship
golf, a great driving range, and three putting greens. It’s
a great ‘practice site’. It has already hosted PGA
tour qualifying as well as many other events in Southern California. |

OAK
VALLEY GOLF CLUB
• Beaumont • Par 72
A beautiful, rolling course with picturesque elevation
changes. This Landmark Signature Design Course features multiple
teeing grounds that stretch the course to 7,003 yards. Host
of the PGA Tour Stage Two Qualifying Tournament. |

VICTORIA
CLUB
• Riverside • Par 72
One of the first GCs established (1903) west of the
Mississippi River. A very traditional and exclusive private
club. A medium length layout by today’s standards. It
requires accuracy off the tee and a sound short game as the
greens are well guarded, sloped, and fast in nature. A wonderful
environment when the teams play there. It is very quiet and
usually not very busy. |
