The Big West Conference announced their All-Conference Men's
Basketball teams Monday morning. UC Riverside's senior guard
Larry Cunningham received Honorable Mention and freshman guard
Jalonni Diggs was placed on the All-Freshman team.
Cunningham (Downey, CA)
earns his second career All-Conference award after earning
Honorable Mention last season. He has led the team all year
long in scoring and enters this week's Big West tournament
fifth in conference at 15.9 PPG. Earlier this season, Cunningham
scored 31 points against Hawaii to surpass Howard Lee (1969-72)
and became UCR 's all-time leading scorer. He had seven games
in which he scored 20-plus points and enters the tournament
with 1900 career points.
Diggs (Los Angeles, CA)
picks up his first career All-Conference honor after starting
27 of the 28 regular season games, scoring 5.7 PPG, and dishing
out a team-high 81 assists from his point guard position.
He finished the regular season and enters the Big West Tournament
averaging 2.9 APG.
The Highlanders begin play
at the Big West Tournament as the #7 seed and play #6 seed
Cal Poly in the opening round on Wednesday night.
