UCR Finishes Sixth, Paez Second at Sycuan Invitational

(Oct. 23, 2007) – Highlander freshman Nick Paez shot a 217, one-over par at the Sycuan Collegiate Invitational at Willow Glen Course in El Cajon, Calif., two shots behind the individual medalist, Ryan Spears of Whichita State.

As a team, the Highlanders finished in sixth place with a score of +39. Of the 17 teams Wichita State took the title with San Diego State and Missouri finishing second and third.

Andrew Cortez tied for 19th with a nine-over par 225. Spencer Paschall shot a 229 with Scott Clayton three shots behind him. Steve Solis shot a three round total of 250, rounding out the scoring for UCR.


The Highlanders return to the links on Nov. 5th for a three day tournament in Kahuka, HI.
