(February 16,
2008) - UC Riverside dropped a 7-0 decision to the University
of San Diego 7-0 in their second game of the "a TEN Construction"
tournament at Amy S. Harrison Field Saturday morning. The
Highlanders fall to 2-5 on the season.
USD pitchers
Alyssa Luna and Jessi Waers combined to limit UCR to three
hits on the day. Senior Kristie Martinez, junior Katie Curtis,
and freshman Brooke Hebenton recorded the base-hits for the
Highlanders. Sophomore starting pitcher Marissa Alvidrez took
the loss after allowing six runs and striking out two in 2.2
innings of work.
UCR continues
play with a 11:00 a.m. game against USD and a 1:00 p.m. game
against Loyola Marymount.
In other tournament
action; Creighton beat USD 8-2, LMU beat Northern Colorado
10-2, and Creighton came from behind to beat LMU 3-2 in eight
innings.
