(May 10, 2008) – Junior high jumper Elvin Tabah qualified
for Regionals in the event on Saturday with a personal best
jump of 6' 10 3/4" (2.10m) at the OXY Invitational. That
mark is the third highest jump in the Big West this season.
In
other Highlanders Track & Field action freshman Ashley
Gatewood, competing at the Big West Multi Events Championships,
completed her first-ever heptathlon finishing in seventh place
with 4,513 points. That total qualifies her for the National
Junior Championships later this summer.
The Big West Championships are scheduled for May 16 and 17
in Northridge, CA.
