Highlanders Set School-Records at Washington Invite

Final Results

(February 2, 2008) - The UC Riverside opened its Indoor Track season in style, setting four school-records while competing at the University of Washington Invitational in Seattle, WA on Saturday.

Sophomore Allison Wilder set an indoor school-record and personal best triple-jump with a third-place jump of 40'4".

Senior Tayma Stephenson set a new UCR indoor school-record in the 800m with a time of 2:10.89.

The Women's 4x400 relay team of junior Marina Young, junior Ashley Williams, Stephenson, and junior Uche Egeonigwe finished fourth out of the 15 competing teams to set the Highlander's school indoor record with a time of 3:48.51.

The Men's 4x400 relay team of sophomore A.J. Jacobson, sophomore Marcus Marbey, senior Nemo Simmons, and senior Ed Giles finished fourth and also set the school's indoor record with their time of 3:18.80.

Two other notable personal best's were also set in the weight throw competitions by seniors Melissa Gennisaiski (4th place, 56"10") and David Rosenblatt (52' 6").
