Cristina Olivas earns her first career Big West Athlete

(March 26, 2008) - The Big
West Conference named junior Cristina Olivas the Women's Track
Athlete of the week. She ran an NCAA Regional Qualifying time
in the her first ever race in the 3000m Steeple Chase at the
Irvine Collegiate Invitational last Friday.
Olivas earns her first
career Track Athlete of the Week award after producing a school-record
and personal best time in the 3000m Steeple Chase with a time
of 10:28.45. She won the competition 15 seconds faster than
her closest competitor.
Her time in the event is
currently tops among all NCAA competitors.
