(Oct.
20, 2007) -The visiting UC Irvine Anteaters handed the host
UC Riverside Highlanders a 3-0 (30-26, 30-13, 30-22) defeat
in front of 149 fans at the Student
Recreation Center in Riverside Saturday.
The Highlanders fell to 5-14
overall and 1-7 in the Big West. The Anteaters are 16-7 and
6-2.
Irvine hit .366 (56-15-112)
for the Anteaters, compared to .083 (28-20-96) for the Highlanders.
The Highlanders' Amy Read lead the team in kills with six.
Setter Brittney Murrey had 20 assists. For Irvine, Kari Pestolesi
had match-highs of 19 kills and a .378 hitting percentage.
UCR returns to action on
Friday, October 26th as they host Cal State Northridge at
the Student Recreation Center at 7:00 p.m.
