2006: Appeared in 90 games... started 27 matches... averaged 9.04 assists, 0.73 kills, 2.20 digs, and 0.68 blocks per game... led the team with 814 assists... had a team-high 20 service aces... hit .100 with 66 kills and 40 errors on 261 attempts...had 120 points, an average of 1.33 per game... had 61 blocks, including seven solo and 54 assisted blocks... posted 198 digs... had a career-high 53 assists against Northern Arizona (9/1/06)... had 52 assists, six kills, a career-high five blocks and 14 digs against UC Davis (9/30/06)... had 46 assists at Pacific (9/23/06)... had a career-high 15 digs vs. CS Northridge (10/14/06)... had eight kills and hit .263 (8-3-19) vs Syracuse (9/8/06).
2005: Redshirted the season for the Highlanders.
High School: Was a four-year letterwinner at St. Mary’s HS, helping to lead Coach Jon Segal’s team to a 31-11 overall record and an undefeated league record en route to the Bay Shore Athletic League championship in 2004... team reached the Division IV North Coast Section championship game and the second round of the regional playoffs... had 415 assists and 224 kills... was named BSAL Most Valuable Player in 2004... named a Top-100 Prep Athlete of the Year by the Contra Costa Times in 2005... was named second team All-League in 2003 and won her teams’ Best Defensive Player Award... earned Player of the Week honors once in 2003 and in 2004.
Personal: Brittney Elizabeth Murrey is the daughter of Douglas and Barbara Murrey... majoring in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in creative writing and sociology... favorite teams are the Sacramento Kings and San Antonio Spurs... favorite athletes are Logan Tom, Kerri Walsh and Misty May... favorite writers are Connie Porter and S.E. Hinton... favorite novel is “Imani All Mine”... favorite foods are Mexican and Italian... enjoys watching the George Lopez Show and the Dave Chappelle Show... favorite films are “Love and Basketball”, “Hitch” and “The Notebook”... enjoys listening to E40, Keak da Sneak, Carrie Underwood and Rascal Flatts... hobbies include singing, playing basketball, dancing, acting and writing poetry... comes from a very athletic family, as her father played collegiate basketball at San Jose State then went on to play overseas, while her mother played volleyball at SJSU... brother Russell played basketball at Adams State and brother Jerryck plays basketball at Western Illinois.
