2006: Played in 26 games... appeared in 17 matches... averaged 0.54 kills and 0.31 blocks per game... hit .018 with 14 kills and 13 errors in 55 attempts... had 18 points, an average of 0.69 per game... had five kills and hit .714 (5-0-7) vs. Northern Arizona (9/1/06)... had four kills vs. Bowling Green (9/2/06)... had three blocks against Long Beach State (10/21/06).
2005: Appeared in 22 games... played in 13 matches... averaged 0.86 kills and 0.91 blocks per game... hit .275 with 19 kills and five errors in 51 attempts... hit .318 with eight kills and one error in 22 attempts against UC Irvine (10/14/05)... had four kills in seven attempts for a .571 hitting percentage and added a block solo and four block assists against UC Davis (10/28/05)... had four block assists and a solo block vs. St. Francis (9/9/05).
High School: Was a four year letterwinner for Coach Barbara Klews... earned First Team All-Hayward Area Athletic League honors as a sophomore and was team MVP in 2003 and 2004... also played basketball, helping her team to the Northern California semifinals in back-to-back years... the team reached the NCS finals in 2005 and won the NCS championship in 2004... played on the same club team as Brittney Murrey.
Personal: Raquel Salinas is the daughter of Mauro R. Salinas and Dr. Dalia E. Perez-Salinas... nicknamed “Rock”... majoring in business economics administration with a concentration in marketing... roots for the San Antonio Spurs, the San Francisco Giants and Oakland Raiders... favorite athlete Manu Ginobli... favorite novel is “The DaVinci Code”... favorite foods are Chinese and Japanese... enjoys watching The Cosby Show and Law and Order SVU... favorite films are “The Notebook” and “Mean Girls”... enjoys arts and crafts in her free time... uncle Gilbert Salinas played basketball at Notre Dame from 1977 through 1981.
