(October 7, 2002) - The
UC Riverside Highlanders bettered their opening round score
with a second-round 321, to give them a two-round total of
659, but still slipped a spot to fourth at the 18th Annual
Huskie Classic in Huntley, IL. Western Michigan won the tournament
with a two round total of 636.
The Highlanders shot a first
round total of 338, good for third place and were 17 shots
better in round two, but were passed by Eastern Illinois,
which bettered their second round total by 36 shots.
Sophomore Le-Anh Nguyen
finished second overall in the tournament with a two round
total of 154, five shots behind winner Erica Bieniek of Western
Michigan. Freshman Lindsay Snowden tied for fifth place 161.
Kimberly Feliciano was 19th at 168, Cathleen O'Neill 37th
at 176, and Jill Gough 45th at 183 to round out the scoring.
(October 15, 2002) -
Led by Kimberly Feliciano's 2-over 74 in the second round,
the Highlanders came back to post the lowest round of the
day to move from fourth to second at the NAU Lumberjack Invitational
in Flagstaff, Arizona.
The Highlanders (318-305)
finished 23 strokes behind first place Northern Arizona and
eight shots ahead of their next closest competitor, the University
of Portland.
Lindsey Snowden finished
in 10th place with a two-round score of 154. Courtney O'Neill
finished in 11th place, one shot behind at 155. Feliciano
tied for 12th at 156 and Le-Anh Nguyen was tied for 16th with
a 158. Cathleen O'Neill tied for 41st with a 167.
Lauren Gray of Northern
Arizona won the tournament with a two-round total of 144.
(October 21-22, 2002) -
Led by Le-Anh Nguyen's two round total of 154, the Highlanders
finished fourth at the Matador Fall Classic at Olivas Park
Golf Course in Ventura, CA.
Nguyen tied for 10th place
while Kimberly Feliciano tied for 12th with a total of 155.
Lindsay Snowden tied for 19th with a 158, Cathleen O'Neill
tied for 28th with a 162, Courtney O'Neill tied for 39th with
a 167, and Jill Gough was tied for 47th with a 171 and competing
as an individual.
Elizabeth Allen of Cal State
Northridge won the tournament with a even par 144. The Highlanders
(308-320) finished 24 strokes behind first place Cal State
Northridge.
(October 28-29, 2002) -
Led by Kimberly Feliciano's two-round total of 157, the Highlanders
finished second in the Cal Poly Invitational at Avila Beach
Resort Golf Course in Avila Beach, CA.
Feliciano finished in third
place while Lindsay Snowden was seven shots back, finishing
eighth with a 164. Le-Anh Nguyen tied for 14th with a 168,
Cathleen O'Neill tied for 21st with a 172 and Sarah Walmsley
tied for 30th with a 182. Competing as an individual, Dana
Travis shot 196, finishing 37th.
Emma Wahlgren of Cal State
Northridge won the tournament by three strokes with a 150.
The Highlanders (325-332) finished 20 shots behind tournament
winner Cal State Northridge.
(Mar. 11, 2003) -
The UC Riverside Highlanders women's golf team finished in
ninth place in the Anteater Invitational at Coto De Caza Coutry
Club Tuesday.
The Highlanders entered
play on Wednesday in seventh place, but slipped two spots,
finishing witha 111-over 975. Host UC Irvine won the tournament
with a 61-over 925 over the three rounds.
Lindsay Snowden was the
top UCR finisher, coming in with a 26-over 242, good for 26th
place. Courtney O'Neill finished one shot and one place behind
at 243, and Kimberly Feliciano finished in 39th with a total
of 248. Le-Anh Nguyen (42nd, 250) and Jill Gough (58th, 262)
rounded out the top five, while Cathleen O'Neill tied for
50th with a 253 while playing as an individual.
Elizabeth Allen of Cal State
Northridge won the tournament by shooting an even-par 216.
Stella Lee of Northridge was four shots behind at 220.

Freshman Lindsay Snowden finished in second place with a three
round total of 231 and the UC Riverside Highlanders' women's
golf team posted one of their best finishes of the season,
scoring a second place finish at the Inland Empire Women's
Intercollegiate Tournament at Downriver Golf Club in Spokane,
WA Tuesday.
The Highlanders posted a
three round total of 941, ten shots behind the University
of Idaho. Third place Eastern Washington was third, 26 shots
behind the leader at 957.
Snowden finished in a four
way tie for second at 15 over, and junior Kimberly Feliciano
was tied for eighth at 17-over 233. Sophomores Courtney O'Neill
was 12th at 233 and Le-Ahn Nguyen 15th at 242 and freshman
Cathleen O'Neill was 26th at 247.

Senior Kim Feliciano shot a third-round 79 to win the Women's
Fidelity National Title Tournament at Cypress Ridge Golf Club
in Arroyo Grande, CA by two strokes over Andrea Folk of Eastern
Washington. The Highlanders finished tied for third overall,
10 shots behind first place Eastern Washington.
Feliciano shot a first-round
low 76, then followed with a second round 80, the fourth-lowest
performance of the round. Her 79 in the third round was not
the top round of the day, but was enough to keep her in front.
The win was the women's team's first individual victory of
thes season. Freshman Lindsay Snowden finished tied for fourth,
trialing by four shots at 239.
Le-Anh Nguyen and Courtney
O'Neill tied for 13th at 247 and Sarah Walmsley was 32nd at
307.

Senior Kim Feliciano was named Big West Women Golfer of the
Week by the Big West Conference Office on Wednesday.
Feliciano
shot a third-round 79 to win the Women's Fidelity National
Title Tournament at Cypress Ridge Golf Club in Arroyo Grande,
CA by two strokes over Andrea Folk of Eastern Washington.
Feliciano shot a first-round low 76, then followed
with a second round 80, the fourth-lowest performance of the
round. Her 79 in the third round was not the top round of
the day, but was enough to keep her in front.
The win was the women's
team's first individual victory of thes season, and the GOW
honor was the women's team's first of the season.
(April 22, 2003) -
EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. - The UC Riverside Highlanders women's
golf team finished sixth, 53 shots behind first-place CS Northridge
at the Big West Women's Golf Tournament at Serrano Country
Club in El Dorado Hills Tuesday. The Matadors won the rain-shortened
tournament with a two-round total of 617, four shots ahead
of Idaho, UCR posted a 680 for the tournament.
Elizabeth
Allen of Northridge won the tournament with a two-under 142.
Freshman Lindsay Snowden was the top UCR finisher, posting
a two-round total of 163 good for 12th place. Courtney O'Neill
improved 10 shots from her opening round to post a two day
total of 166, good for 16th.

(April 23, 2003) -
Senior Kim Feliciano and freshman Lindsay Snowden were named
second team All-Big West Wednesday.
Snowden led the team with
an average of 79.67 this season, while Feliciano was second
at 79.95. Feliciano posted the team's first ever individual
win by taking the Fidelity National Title Tournament in Arroyo
Grande on April 14-15.
