Highlanders Close Out Spring Season On High Note

UC Riverside produced a 5-3-1 Spring season record.

(May 30, 2008) – The UC Riverside women’s soccer team finished up the spring season recently with its final spring games against Cal State Northridge, University of Nevada-Las Vegas, and California Baptist University. Their final mark of 5-3-1 leaves the Highlanders in a good position as the team breaks off for finals and summer break.

The non-championship season concluded on the 19th of April when UNLV and local NAIA program Cal Baptist played at Highlander Stadium. The Highlanders picked up 1-0 wins against both teams.

The team had several players produc outstanding spring seasons and the team also saw the improvement of younger players who will come into the fall season vying for starting positions.

UC Riverside will be playing one of the toughest schedules in their history next season, with non-conference games against Nebraska, Oregon, and San Diego as well as eight games against the highly competitive Big West Conference. The Highlanders report on August 4th to begin their chase for a spot in the Big West post-season tournament and a NCAA tournament berth.
