Oregon’s Second Half Too Much for UCR

(Sept. 7, 2007) – The Higlanders (2-1) couldn’t stop the #19 Oregon (3-0) offense in the second half, as the Ducks scored all five of their goals in the second 45 minutes. UCR held the Ducks in check in the scoreless first half but two quick goals in the later frame led to a 5-1 Oregon win.

Sophomore Ashley Parks scored the lone goal for the Highlanders on a header in the 70th minute on a feed from Natalie Ducatenzeiler, UCR’s early season points leader.

Oregon’s Danielle Sweeney scored two goals to lead her team. Jen Cameron, Jen Stoltenburg and Allison Newton also scored for the Ducks.

UCR will stay in the state of Oregon as they take on Oregon State Sunday at 1:00 pm. The Highlanders return home next Friday as they face Eastern Michigan at 12:00 pm in the first of five straight home games.
