(Oct. 15, 2007) –
Junior forward Tessa Lennala was named the Big West Conference’s
Co-Player of the Week, for the second time this season, after
her performance this past weekend. Sharing the honor with
Lennala is UC Irvine freshman forward Tanya Taylor.
Lennala began here award-winning
weekend on Friday, as she scored UCR’s only goal in
a 1-1 tie with Pacific. Sunday, against UC Davis, Lennala
scored the game-winner in the second overtime, giving the
Highlanders a 2-1 victory.
The junior from Chaparral
HS in Temucula is the only player in the Big West Conference
to win the player of the week award more than once this season.
With eight goals on the season, Lennala is tied for second
place on UCR’s goals in a season list. She trails only
